Baseball Recap: Taft Has No Trouble Against Kennedy

While Taft put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Kennedy. The Taft Wildcats put the hurt on the Kennedy Thunderbirds with a sharp 10-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Ben Nuncio's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Dylan Clark and Blayne Farkas did most of the damage at the plate: Clark scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Farkas scored a run while going 1-for-2. Farkas also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season.

Taft always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Taft Wildcats duke it out with Kerman Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kennedy, they will take on Wasco on Tuesday.
