Football Game Preview: Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals vs. Alcona Tigers + How To Watch

Whittemore-Prescott is 2-7 against Alcona since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Whittemore-Prescott has given up an average of 44.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Whittemore-Prescott is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 36 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Mio-Au Sable on Friday. They took a blow against the Thunderbolts, falling 44-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Alcona lost to Heston Academy at home by a 42-26 margin on Friday.

Whittemore-Prescott will have to keep a close watch on Brandon Fogle and Keegan Ritchie, a pair of players who had a big impact on Alcona's prior game. Fogle rushed for 284 yards and two touchdowns, while Ritchie rushed for 173 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.

Whittemore-Prescott's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Alcona, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Whittemore-Prescott was dealt a bruising 74-16 loss at the hands of Alcona in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cardinals were down 52-16.
