Baseball Recap: Bishop Diego Takes a Loss

Bishop Diego had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-10 to make it 11. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cate Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 15-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Cate, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.

For Cate's part, the team relied heavily on Chase Meyer, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Diego will take on Foothill Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cate, they will face off against Dunn at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Earwigs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
