Baseball Recap: North Muskegon's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

North Muskegon won against Mason County Central on Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Norsemen beat the Caledonia Fighting Scots by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Norsemen, who have now won six games in a row.

Cameron Hurst looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carter Mieler was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

North Muskegon's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Caledonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Muskegon will take on Grant at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Caledonia, they will challenge Byron Center at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Scots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
