Softball Recap: Randolph Wins Going Away Against Poteet

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marion, Randolph was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Poteet Aggies as they made off with a 9-3 victory.

Raelynn Fowler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Landreth, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Hadley Megeath was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Randolph's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-13. As for Poteet, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Randolph has already played their next matchup, an 8-0 defeat against Jourdanton on the 4th. As for Poteet, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Marion on the 4th.
