Basketball Game Preview: Swansea Tigers vs. Fox Creek Predators

The Swansea Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Fox Creek Predators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Swansea has struggled recently with 35 losses in a row, while Fox Creek will arrive with three straight wins.

Swansea is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Keenan last Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Swansea took a blow against Keenan, falling 95-24. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Swansea saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zyshawn Jamison posted nine points. That was a full 37.5% of Swansea's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Fox Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Newberry on Friday, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory.

Fox Creek's win came from a few key players Swansea will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kobe Sims, who put up 18 points and four steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brelan Baskett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Fox Creek's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Swansea, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Swansea ended up a good deal behind Fox Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, losing 53-35. Can Swansea avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
