Baseball Game Preview: Regis Rams vs. Mohawk Mustangs

For the second straight game, Regis will face off against Mohawk. The Rams will welcome the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Regis has three straight wins, Mohawk has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Regis got the win against Mohawk by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Regis got a massive performance out of Rook Smith, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Korben Schumacher, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact: Regis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.

Mohawk's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Regis, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
