Preview: Perry Pirates vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers
Perry is 8-2 against Chagrin Falls since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Perry Pirates will be staying on the road to face off against the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 1:45 p.m. on January 20th.
Perry suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Mentor, falling 53-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Perry has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls earned a 58-49 win over Orange on Wednesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chagrin Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Russell, who scored 25 points. Lilly Stukus was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with two steals.
Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Chagrin Falls, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Perry came up short against Chagrin Falls in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 44-40. Can Perry avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
