Basketball Game Preview: Como Park Cougars vs. Johnson Governors

Como Park is 0-10 against Johnson since February of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Como Park Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Johnson Governors at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Como Park took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 72-64 victory over Humboldt. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Johnson). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 103-69 victory over Washington Tech. Winning may never get old, but the Governors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Johnson has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Como Park, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Como Park took a serious blow against Johnson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 88-40. Can Como Park avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
