Mercedes had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Edinburg Bobcats with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 20-16 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercedes will challenge Donna at 7:30 p.m. on September 5. As for Edinburg, they will square off against Vela at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
