Softball Game Preview: Cloverleaf Colts vs. Field Falcons

Cloverleaf is 1-9 against Field since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Colts are taking a road trip to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Cloverleaf is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Norton hit Cloverleaf with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Colts came up short against the Panthers, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Colts couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Field sidestepped Coventry for a 3-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted against the Comets since May 16, 2022.

Field's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Cloverleaf, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Cloverleaf suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Field in their previous matchup on April 9th. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
