Softball Recap: Lodi Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tracy, Lodi was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lincoln Trojans by a score of 5-2. The victory continues a trend for the Flames in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Ashlyn Jubrey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allison Frank, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Lodi's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Lincoln, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lodi will square off against Kimball at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Flames will need to watch out since the Jaguars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Lincoln, they will face off against St. Mary's at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
