Basketball Recap: Evergreen Cougars vs. Heritage Eagles
Evergreen's tournament run continued when they took on Heritage on Saturday. The Evergreen Cougars came out on top against the Heritage Eagles by a score of 47-34.

Addie McEvers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bailey, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.
Evergreen was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only racked up eight assists.
Heritage's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skylar Peterson, who earned 11 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Jumps, who put up six points and four steals.
The victory got Evergreen back to even at 3-3. As for Heritage, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen will take on Longmont in a tournament on Thursday. Heritage and Golden will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden's defense has only allowed 22.7 points per game this season, so Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them.
