            Baseball Recap: Steinbrenner Warriors vs. Wesley Chapel Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Steinbrenner proved they can win big  last Tuesday (they won by 13) and  on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wesley Chapel Wildcats  5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Warriors have posted  since April 23, 2024.
 Kelton Meares spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four  runs (all of which were unearned)  on six hits and racked up six Ks.
 At the plate,  Mason Koumas was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in February.
Steinbrenner is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Wesley Chapel, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
 Steinbrenner has already played their next game,  a  6-5  loss against Sumner on the 10th. As for Wesley Chapel, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  10-0  win against Zephyrhills on the 10th.
