Basketball Recap: St. John's Prep Comes Up Short

St. John's Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Upsala Cardinals 78-35. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Leading Upsala to victory were Samuel Laliberte and Jack Primus. Laliberte went 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points, while Primus dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Laliberte is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Klein, who posted 11 points.

St. John's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Upsala, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

St. John's Prep will square off against Hope Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Upsala, they and Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
