Baseball Recap: Saks Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Saks took on Wellborn on Thursday. Saks came up short against Wellborn, falling 21-7. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

LaJuan Curry and Tyler Rucker stepped up to the plate in a big way. Curry scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4, while Rucker scored a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, Rucker posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Jayden Woods was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Saks' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Wellborn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Saks will be playing at home against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Saks is facing Jacksonville Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Jacksonville Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wellborn, they are taking a road trip to take on Glencoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
