Baseball Recap: Northview Comes Up Short

Northview extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 4-9. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hudsonville Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 on Friday.

As for Hudsonville, they pushed their record up to 14-7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.

For Hudsonville's part, Will Pennington looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pennington has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hudsonville let Colin Baugher and Braylon Miller run wild. Baugher got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Miller went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Northview will venture away from home to take on Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hudsonville, they will host Norrix at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
