Baseball Game Preview: Wheeler Lions vs. Killingly Trailblazers

Wheeler hasn't had much luck against Killingly recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Trailblazers at 11:00 a.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wheeler had taken Norwich RVT down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Lions lost 18-2 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Killingly fell victim to Cambridge Rindge & Latin and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Trailblazers were not able to get on the board.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Killingly, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Wheeler was able to grind out a solid win over Killingly when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trailblazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
