Softball Game Preview: Evansville Reitz Panthers vs. Evansville Bosse Bulldogs

Evansville Reitz has gone a perfect 10-0 against Evansville Bosse recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Evansville Reitz's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Evansville Bosse has been banged up by 17 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Evansville Reitz's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Evansville Central 9-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.

Not much got past Ella Ellerbrook, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Evansville Central off the board. Ellerbrook has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sadey Jones and Ava Leeds did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Leeds went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Jones has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinley Miller was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Evansville Reitz was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Evansville Central only posted a batting average of .095.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Evansville Bosse's offense. They came up short against Evansville Mater Dei on Tuesday, falling 23-0.

Evansville Reitz's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Evansville Bosse, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Evansville Reitz took their win against Evansville Bosse in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
