Muhlenberg County is a perfect 4-0 against Webster County since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m.
Muhlenberg County fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against McLean County on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1.
Muhlenberg County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myles Murphy, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Webster County won against Trigg County on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Trojans skirted past Crittenden County 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.
Gunnar Boone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Webster County is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trace Hardison, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Zander Snyder was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Muhlenberg County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Webster County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Muhlenberg County beat Webster County 4-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
