Basketball Game Preview: Academy of Richmond County Musketeers vs. Hephzibah Rebels

The Academy of Richmond County Musketeers will take on the Hephzibah Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Academy of Richmond County is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since November 12, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by Cross Creek and fell 73-42. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Razorbacks are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Hephzibah came up short against Laney on Saturday and fell 50-42. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Academy of Richmond County will need focus on slowing down ISAIAH RICHARDSON, one of several Hephzibah players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 for 11 en route to 18 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave RICHARDSON a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was JAMARCUS SALMOND, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Academy of Richmond County's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hephzibah, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Academy of Richmond County came out on top in a nail-biter against Hephzibah when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 52-49. Does Academy of Richmond County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hephzibah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
