Basketball Recap: Claxton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Claxton needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Jayda Jordan. The Claxton Tigers enjoyed a cozy 38-23 victory over the Montgomery County Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Jordan, who almost dropped a triple-double on 26 points, 18 boards, and nine steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Claxton's points.

Claxton's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Montgomery County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Claxton will welcome Jenkins County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Claxton is facing Jenkins County at the right time seeing as Jenkins County is stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Montgomery County, they will challenge Wheeler County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery County will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Wheeler County will have lost seven straight heading into Friday's contest.
