Basketball Recap: Mountain House Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mountain House can now relate to. They lost 64-42 to the Vanden Vikings on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Vikings are ranked 91st).

Despite the loss, Mountain House still got an impressive performance from Shamar Jones, who posted 17 points. Coldin Parker was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

Caleb Rafan was nothing short of spectacular for Vanden: he had 14 points and five rebounds. Rafan is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Templeton Fountaine V, who scored 11 points.

Mountain House's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Vanden, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-8.

Mountain House does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vanden, they will face off against Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Folsom's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 24 games.
