Volleyball Recap: Spooner Comes Up Short

Spooner lost against Northwestern back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rails took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

While Spooner had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 15-25, 25-22.

Spooner has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Northwestern, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Spooner will challenge rival Hayward at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northwestern is set to take on their familiar foe Cameron at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
