Recap: Delmar Wildcats vs. Seaford Bluejays
If the Delmar Wildcats were feeling good off their 65-6 takedown of the Sussex Academy Seahawks last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Delmar was outmatched by Seaford on the road and fell 74-47. Delmar has not had much luck with Seaford recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Seaford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Smith out in front who scored 24 points along with five assists and five steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Vincent Evans was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Delmar's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Seaford, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delmar will take on Woodbridge at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Woodbridge is ranked 34th, while Delmar is ranked 48th). As for Seaford, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Laurel at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th.
