Football Game Preview: Long Island Lutheran Crusaders vs. Delaware Valley Warriors

The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Delaware Valley Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Island Lutheran has given up an average of 27.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Long Island Lutheran might have lost, but man, Madison Murrell was a machine: he rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs. Long Island Lutheran also got help from Kameron Roy, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Delaware Valley's game on Saturday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 win over Abington Heights. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly 14 points.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Michael Iuzzolino and Devin Estevez. Iuzzolino rushed for 175 yards and two scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry while Estevez rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Those 99 rushing yards gave Estevez a new career-high.

Delaware Valley's run defense was locked in: Abington Heights could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Dylan Bannon for the heroic effort on defense: he. Delaware Valley's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.8 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 7.7 on average over their last five games.

Long Island Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Delaware Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
