Basketball Recap: Richard Wright Public Charter School Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Richard Wright Public Charter School had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the BASIS Red Giants. The Spartans just can't catch a break and have now endured 14 losses in a row dating back to last season.

Richard Wright Public Charter School lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ashton Wall, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerome Kearney, who put up 14 points.

With the victory, BASIS broke their 20-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-1.

Richard Wright Public Charter School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-20 defeat against Idea on the 12th. BASIS has also already played their next contest, a 68-60 win against Maya Angelou Public Charter on the 12th.
