Baseball Recap: Jefferson Has No Trouble Against Pandora-Gilboa

Jefferson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Pandora-Gilboa on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Rockets. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered an 8-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Isaac Rostorfer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Jefferson's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 2-14 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Lucas Millmine was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dean Trentman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pandora-Gilboa only managed two hits.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will be playing at home against Ottoville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats are facing the Big Green at the right time seeing as the Big Green are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Pandora-Gilboa, they will head out on the road to take on Perry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Commodores have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
