Softball Recap: C. Milton Wright Wins Going Away Against Elkton

C. Milton Wright lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Elkton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Mustangs blew past the Golden Elks 19-1 on Monday. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Izzie Youngworth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Youngworth was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kendra Miller was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Julianna McJilton was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

C. Milton Wright kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got C. Milton Wright back to even at 3-3. As for Elkton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: C. Milton Wright beat the Golden Elks by a score of 21-5 on Tuesday.
