Basketball Game Preview: Classical Purple vs. Franklin Panthers

The Classical Purple and the Franklin Panthers will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Classical took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 70-29 win over Smithfield.

Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abdul Evans led the charge by putting up 15 points. Arnold Mukama was another key player, posting 12 points.

Meanwhile, Franklin put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 70-44 margin over Dartmouth. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Franklin's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points per game. As for Classical, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
