Soccer Game Preview: Colleton County vs. Hampton County

The Colleton County Cougars will square off against the Hampton County Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Colleton County's offense. They lost 10-0 to Hilton Head Island on Friday. While losing is never fun, Colleton County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Hilton Head Island are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Hampton County was forced to settle for a draw. They and Colleton Prep Academy finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Wednesday.

Colleton County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. Hampton County's draw gives them a new season record of 9-8-1.

Colleton County was able to grind out a solid win over Hampton County in their previous meeting back in March, winning 3-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
