Football Recap: Kirkwood Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

Kirkwood waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Creek Wood Red Hawks with a sharp 35-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cobras' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Red Hawks are ranked 218th).

Kirkwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josiah Claybrooks, who rushed for 154 yards and three scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Claybrooks' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Miles Reding was another key signal caller, throwing for 213 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Kirkwood's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Creek Wood, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Kirkwood and Creek Wood will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cobras see the field they'll take on Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Creek Wood, their break will end when they face Montgomery Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
