Football Recap: Compton Tarbabes vs. Centennial Apaches
Compton posted their biggest win since August 25, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past the Centennial Apaches 47-12 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-6.
A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Francis Madera and his top target Diontae Dill. Madera threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes while Dill picked up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Nate Willard also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
The win made it two in a row for Compton and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Compton will head out to square off against Paramount at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Gardena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
