Preview: Santa Monica Vikings vs. Kaiser Cats
The Santa Monica Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Kaiser Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Monica will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Santa Monica extended their postseason success on Friday against Troy. They took down the Warriors 35-20.
It was another big night for Caden Mccallum, who rushed for 72 yards and three touchdowns. David Solis-Valdovinos made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Kaiser waltzed into Friday's contest with five straight wins but they left with six. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 50-49 win over Los Osos. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Kiyel Tyler was a one-man wrecking crew for Kaiser as he rushed for 317 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Tyler was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Marshall Jr, who rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Their wins bumped Santa Monica to 8-4 and Kaiser to 9-3.
