Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Clay Center Tigers

Chapman and Clay Center are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Chapman Irish will head out on the road to face off against the Clay Center Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Chapman might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Wamego an easy 63-42 victory. The Irish have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Clay Center put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Abilene with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Chapman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Clay Center, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Chapman won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January, slipping by Clay Center 35-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
