Basketball Recap: Austin Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Austin extended their home winning streak to eight games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Brynn Owens. The Austin Eagles took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging an 83-22 win over the Mitchell Bluejackets thanks in part to Owens, who went 13 for 22 on her way to 35 points in addition to six boards and five steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Austin's points.

Austin's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Austin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-54 win against Trinity Lutheran on the 21st. As for Mitchell, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shakamak at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
