Basketball Game Preview: Webb Gauls vs. Azusa Aztecs + Official Tickets

The Webb Gauls just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Azusa Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Webb will be strutting in after a victory while Azusa will be coming in after a defeat.

Webb is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Southwestern Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 93-29 win. The Gauls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 43 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Azusa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 47-35 to Ganesha. Aztecs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Giants since Thursday.

Webb will have to keep a close watch on Jeremy Gomez and Aaron Beltran, a pair of players who had a big impact on Azusa's prior game. Gomez posted ten points along with eight boards and seven steals, while Beltran almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Azusa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Webb, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Webb suffered a grim 62-40 defeat to Azusa when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Gauls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
