Softball Recap: 16 Straight Home Victories for Box Elder

Box Elder came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Woods Cross Wildcats as they made off with a 19-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 back in April.

Lucy Braegger looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jenna Marble, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Hall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Box Elder kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Box Elder pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Woods Cross, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Box Elder nor Woods Cross have any future games scheduled.
