Basketball Recap: North Woods Comes Up Short

North Woods came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Ely Timberwolves 69-34. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 78-39 back in January.

North Woods has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 18 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Ely, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.

North Woods wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-44 victory against Littlefork-Big Falls on the 18th. As for Ely, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-47 win against Deer River on the 18th.
