Baseball Recap: Barbers Hill Beats Dawson for Their Fourth Straight Win

Barbers Hill barely beat Dawson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Barbers Hill never let Dawson get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Barbers Hill, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Barbers Hill got a great performance from Ayden Mooring as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Joseph Ponder and Ryan Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Ponder scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Garcia scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Ponder a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Roque Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The victory (which was Barbers Hill's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs over those games. As for Dawson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Barbers Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Porter at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dawson, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ball at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
