The St. Dominic Crusaders will be taking part in a tournament against the Christian Brothers Cadets at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Dominic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Howell Central on Friday.

Trey Peroutka tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Cooper Montgomery was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Daniel Henke was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Gateway Legacy Christian Academy 4-3. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Brady Rallo looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on GT Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
