Basketball Game Preview: North Johnston Panthers vs. Beddingfield Bruins

The North Johnston Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Beddingfield Bruins at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, North Johnston turned things around against Princeton on Tuesday. They snuck past the Bulldogs with a 48-44 victory.

North Johnston's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaleb Pone, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 22 points and six boards, and Ben Cuddington, who went 6 of 11 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Pone has scored at least a third of North Johnston's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Cuddington, who posted eight points.

North Johnston was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only racked up three assists.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Beddingfield sidestepped Princeton for a 54-52 win.

North Johnston's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-11. As for Beddingfield, their record now sits at 7-10.

North Johnston couldn't quite finish off Beddingfield in their previous matchup back in January and fell 42-40. Can North Johnston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
