The Brady Eagles will face off against the Maxwell Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brady has given up an average of 45.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Brady is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hyannis on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Eagles came up short against the Longhorns, falling 56-30. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brady's defeat came about despite a quality game from Cinch Sanger, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Maxwell duked it out with Bayard on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers 55-8. That looming 55-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.
Brady better keep an eye on Jesse Reyes. He was instrumental in Maxwell's win, rushing for 125 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 50 yards and one touchdown. Reyes is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Maxwell proved: they limited Bayard to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. While five picked up at least one total tackle, Reyes stood above the rest. He rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 50 yards and one TD. Maxwell didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.7.
Maxwell now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Brady, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brady has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 186.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Maxwell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 260.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Brady took a serious blow against Maxwell in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 58-28. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
