Softball Preview: River Ridge Royal Knights vs. Wesley Chapel Wildcats
The River Ridge Royal Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Wesley Chapel Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. River Ridge is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
River Ridge not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th. They put the hurt on Zephyrhills with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Mackenzie Vozdecky was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Gutauskas, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
River Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Sunlake by a score of 5-2.
The team relied heavily on Eliana Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Madisen Stewart was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Wesley Chapel now has a winning record of 7-6. As for River Ridge, their record now sits at 8-6.
