Softball Recap: Oneonta Comes Up Short

Oneonta was the 3-2 winner over Etowah when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Oneonta Redskins might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-2 to the Etowah Blue Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Redskins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lexie Jackson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Oneonta's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Etowah, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oneonta will host Locust Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Locust Fork's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Oneonta's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Etowah, they will welcome Sardis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
