Basketball Game Preview: Portland Raiders vs. Ionia Bulldogs

The Portland Raiders will be taking part in a tournament against the Ionia Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Portland will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Portland saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 victory over St. Johns. The 35-point effort marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, everything went Ionia's way against Belding on Wednesday as Ionia made off with a 58-32 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Black Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Portland's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. As for Ionia, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

Portland was able to grind out a solid win over Ionia in their previous meeting back in January, winning 49-39. Will Portland repeat their success, or does Ionia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
