Venus lost to Hillsboro back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Eagles 20-9. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Venus and bumps their season record up to 16-6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Hillsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Coming up, Venus will be playing at home against Godley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.3, the Wildcats 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hillsboro, they will venture away from home to challenge Kennedale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.54 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
