Baseball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Riverview can now relate to. They fell just short of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Raiders have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Johnny Bertucci put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Bertucci was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Bertucci wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli DeVita, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Riverview's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7-1. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Riverview nor Our Lady of the Sacred Heart have any future games scheduled.
