Baseball Game Preview: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. Poly Parrots

Verdugo Hills hasn't had much luck against Poly recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Dons will square off against the Parrots at 3:30 p.m. Neither Verdugo Hills nor Poly posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Things were looking good for Verdugo Hills after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 4-1 to Sylmar.

D'Angelo Duran was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Poly fell victim to North Hollywood and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-0. The Parrots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Verdugo Hills' loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Verdugo Hills skirted past Poly 3-2 in their previous matchup on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
