Basketball Recap: Harvard Cardinals vs. Franklin Flyers
Harvard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Franklin Flyers and fell 60-22. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-27 back in December of 2024.
Micaiah Niemoth was Harvard's leading scorer, having posted five points. Cohen Reutzel held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Damian Arista took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Eldon Haack was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 21 rebounds for Franklin. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haack has scored at least a third of Franklin's points. Another player making a difference was Caiden Peterman, who posted nine points along with seven assists and six boards.
Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Franklin, they moved to 2-15 with that victory, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvard will venture away from home to take on Lawrence-Nelson at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th. As for Franklin, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elba at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
